URB, the urban music and lifestyle magazine, has put its print title on hiatus according to a web site note, which since has disappeared.
The hiatus went into effect with the Summer 2009 issue, “so that we can evaluate the landscape, relaunch urb.com and decide where we fit in the new, new legacy media ecosystem.” The magazine’s publishers hoped to relaunch in print sometime next year, but it doesn’t sound like it would be on a regular basis.
In the same note, Publisher Raymond Roker wrote about the redesign of the website and “in the immediate and interim, URB will produce digital editions.” He mentioned that “we also have several new initiatives in the works, from events, custom publishing, our expanding interactive and social media network.”…
