ian QUILL & QUIRE marked its 75th anniversary by going digital. Both its April and May issues are offered in print and online via the Magazines Canada Digital Newsstand. Publisher Alison Jones commented that the digital work being done combined with the website is opening up new opportunities for the magazine.
The online editions share the same content and price ($5.95 CA) as the print issue. The 52-page anniversary April edition carried news about the Canadian publishing industry including 7.5 ideas for rebuilding what it termed “an outdated Canadian canon.” But it also took a departure from its usual content by discussing how the Canadian publishing world is moving towards digital. Its May issue looked at the question of libraries in an increasingly online world.
QUILL & QUIRE is published by St. Joseph Media 10 times per year with a paid circulation of 4,500.
