NEW YORK DESIGN HUNTING, a stand-alone shelter title, is set to spin off from parent publication NEW YORK MAGAZINE in May.
Launching as a test issue, the new glossy will target design professionals and enthusiasts, featuring interior design and home décor, all with a distinctive New York slant. New York Magazine publisher Larry Burstein says the aim is to combine the unique voice of New York’s design editor, Wendy Goodman, with the parent magazine’s look.
Half of the initial 75,000 copies will be on newsstands, with the other half distributed free to design pros, showrooms and trade locations. Plans are in the works to publish two issues per year. Reach Editor-in-Chief Wendy Goodman at wendy_goodman@newyorkmag.com. There is no separate magazine website at this time,. Find New York’s home design section at http://nymag.com/homedesign/.
