Forget California: A new publication will target New York surfers

WAX, a new print magazine “exploring the intersection of art, culture and surfing in New York City and the surrounding area,” is slated to debut in May.

Targeting urban readers, the biannual publication focuses on the history of New York surfing, its beaches and local residents.  Each issue is structured around a theme, and includes profiles of area surfers who also are artists, designers and writers.  The theme for the first issue is Dialogues in spring.

There are no plans for online content.  Editor David Yun is leading the publication.  For additional information email info@readwax.com.  Find the website at www.readwax.com.
