BusinessWeek magazineThe McGraw-Hill Companies (AVIATION WEEK, DEFENSE TECHNOLOGY INTERNATIONAL) has announced that it is “exploring strategic options” for ailing BUSINESSWEEK.

The weekly was founded in 1929 and has almost 190 editorial staff, according to its website.  It has almost 5 million readers in 140 countries.  The Publishers Information Bureau reports that ad pages dropped 34% in Q2 while competitors FORTUNE plummeted 45% and FORBES declined 40%.
