Janice Min, outgoing editor-in-chiefUS WEEKLY will be without editor-in-chief Janice Min on August 1 when her contract is up.  Michael Steele, michael.steele@usmagazine.com, currently executive editor, will take over as acting editor-in-chief.

Us Weekly coverMs Min has been with the magazine seven years, first as second in command to Bonnie Fuller.  Min took over when Ms Fuller left after a year.  The circulation has increased to almost 2 million, from more than 800,000 in 2000, and is now second in the celebrity category to PEOPLE.  In the first half of this year, its ad pages dropped close to 10%, which is not bad in an industry where the average decline is 28%.  Last year, the magazine had more than $300 million in revenues.
