This week it has been all a-twitter with the “fact” that Graydon Carter, editor-in-chief of VANITY FAIR, had been spotted in the Conde Nast cafeteria – a never-before observed event.  This must indicate, bloggers thought, that the cut-backs at the formerly swank company had become so severe that Carter had to forego lunch at Michael’s.

But alas, Carter is a regular cafeteria customer.
