Hearst Magazines Digital Media has added another VP in a new position: Mark Weinberg is joining as vice president of programming and product strategy.

He will be responsible for the strategy and execution of programming for Hearst’s portfolio of digital destinations and magazine brand sites, as well as the development of online brands across the Hearst Magazines Digital Media network of sites.  He will also collaborate with Hearst’s print editorial teams to further develop the online presence of the company’s magazine brands.

Weinberg’s bio lists experience from AOL and newspapers, but no background in magazines.

Hearst Magazines Digital Media has launched, re-launched or acquired 25 web sites and nine mobile sites for brands such as COSMOPOLITAN*, ESQUIRE*, GOOD HOUSEKEEPING*, MARIE CLAIRE* and SEVENTEEN*, as well as original digital properties such as,; teen sites and; and, a beauty site launching this month.  Hearst Digital has also acquired, the eCrush Network, social shopping site, and, a consumer health site.
