Ponder This: B2B Bankrupt Publisher Retains Management Team

Business-to-business publisher Questex Media Group Holdings (HOTEL & MOTEL MANAGEMENT, LANDSCAPE MANAGEMENT, GOLFDOM) has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.  A group of the company’s senior lenders is expected to acquire “substantially all” of Questex’s assets and to provide “significant funding” to help finance the company’s future.

From minonline: “Questex is a diversified b2b company with positions in the hospitality, travel, beauty and spa markets via magazine, digital products and events.  The company’s ad pages declined 32% in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2008.”

The company expects to complete the bankruptcy process within 60 days while the business continues to operate as normal.  For some reason that The Horse can’t understand, the management team will remain in place.
