TV Guide magazine, website reunited

TV GUIDE MAGAZINE is being reunited with its other half, TV Guide Network and TVGuide.com. The well-known brand was split into two separate entities when it was sold in 2008 by previous owner Macrovision.  Open Gate Capital bought the magazine while Lionsgate bought the website and cable channel.

Despite being heavily promoted, the magazine’s website, TVGuideMagazine.com, never attracted high traffic.

This deal restores all magazine content to the original website, TVGuide.com, and in exchange, the website will offer print subscription information.  Other cross-promotion deals are in the makings.  Both companies will operate as separate entities with their own editorial and sales team.  Tim Molloy, tim.molloy@tvguide.com, is managing editor.
