Magazine proves one person’s trash is another’s treasure

FLEA MARKET STYLE is a new shelter magazine focusing on the finding and turning discards into treasures.  The first 144-page issue was on newsstands February 2010 and is also available through the magazine’s blog, FMS is, “packed with ideas, photos and how-tos for repurposing, creating and feathering your nest with style, thrift and ingenuity,” according to their blog.

Editor-in-Chief Ki Nassauer and Senior Editor Heather Bullard are hard at work on the February 2011 issue.  The FMS blog offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the magazine is put together.  It also has sneak peeks at the people and places featured in the upcoming issue, such as bloggers, collectors, on-line shop owners, dealers, junkers, Etsy artists, designers and others.

“We hope you, the reader, will share our inspiration as you watch the progress of FMS, chock-full of vintage-style decorating, projects, collecting tips, photo and home features and more, set to hit newsstands in February 2011,” it says on the About Us page.

The website indicates that although most projects will be simple and easy to execute, FMS will provide how-to features, tips and steps to produce those that are more challenging.

FMS is available at Target, Barnes &; Noble, Walgreens, Walmart, Lowes, CVS, grocery and small retail stores and independent newsstands throughout The United States and Canada.  Subscriptions are not available at this time.
