Omaha, Midwest fashion capital, gets fashion magazine

OMAHA FASHION MAGAZINE launched in July, from the founders of the Omaha Fashion Week event (Rachel Richards and Nick Hudson).

Richards told Omaha.net that while the magazine will be mainly locally focused, it won’t contain “just local fashion, but what’s ‘in’ right now.”

Features in the debut issue tie national fashion trends to the Omaha fashion scene.  The issue was distributed across the city at various retail locations.

Sara Dreamer was the editor-in-chief of the debut issue but has left for another position.  Richards added that the magazine was produced in house, but may include more contributors as publishing frequency increases.

Richards said the magazine will publish once in 2010, but possibly expand to two issues in 2011 with a goal of publishing quarterly.  A website is in the works, which will include an online magazine reader, mimicking flipping pages.
