Mash Magazine: At the intersection of personal style and urban design

MASH MAGAZINE, a Detroit-based publication forcused on design, architecture, fashion and beauty with an urban edge, debuted on March 31. The new quarterly is the brainchild of 28-year-old Mashawnta Armstrong, the magazine’s publisher and editor-in-chief.

Mash will feature art-inspired photo spreads, top picks for seasonal fashion and accessories, profiles of Detroit area people and places, interviews and more. Design, decor and architecture are included along with fashion as part of the magazine’s editorial view that style “radiates not only in the way we dress our bodies, but our homes, streetscapes and cities.”

Armstrong, who has a master’s degree in architecture, says the purpose of Mash “is to make a positive impact on the people of Detroit, by presenting to them a glossy package of pages that reflect who they are in hopes of a rippling effect of city pride.”
