Fashionistas rejoice: Style.com will launch a print glossy in October

STYLE.COM will debut a print magazine at the end of October, shortly after the conclusion of fashion week.  The new glossy has been in the works since April.

The inaugural issue will heavily focus on the spring/summer 2012 designer collections.  In addition to behind-the-scenes reporting and commentary from experienced fashion journalists the magazine will include contributions from freelancers, especially young photographers.

Conde Nast’s Fairchild Fashion Media group reportedly considers the move into print as a natural extension of the brand.  According to Editor-in-Chief Dirk Standen, it will be “a magazine for fashion obsessives by fashion obsessives.”  At the same time the new print glossy is released, Style.com also will move into e-commerce, partnering with six New York designers to sell selected items.  Visit www.style.com for more information and updates on the launch.
