Every town has a Broad Street, but only Richmond, VA has the magazine

Part of Broad Street magazine coverBROAD STREET is the name of a new semi-annual journal of creative non-fiction (“true stories”) from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.

The editors “hope to create an engaging platform where writing, poetry, and artwork can come together in one space to be enjoyed equally by members of the world of creative non-fiction and those who are new to this exciting form.”

Each issue has a theme, the first being “Dangerous Territory” and the next is “Hunt, Gather.”

While the magazine is national in scope, the name comes from Richmond’s own Broad Street. Issues can be found for free in Richmond and it will also be carried in a handful of independent bookstores in San Francisco and on the East Coast. Editor is Chad Luibl, luiblcm@vcu.edu and Editorial Assistant and Online Manager is Corinne Jeffries, jeffriescm@vcu.edu. Submissions are being taken online at http://broadstreetonline.org/submissions/
